Latif Khosa appointed Governor Punjab

Former Attorney General Sardar Latif Khosa has been appointed as the Governor of Punjab.
LAHORE: Former Attorney General Sardar Latif Khosa has been appointed as the Governor of Punjab.
A notification has been issued on the appointment of Khosa.
The position of Governor of Punjab had been vacant since theassassination of Salmaan Taseer on Tuesday when he was shot by one of his own guards, Malik Mumtaz Hussain Qari, in an upmarket neighbourhood of Islamabad.
According to Article 101 of the Constitution, the president nominates the governor who stays in office until the president notifies otherwise. If, due to absence from the country or for any other cause, the governor is unable to perform his duties, the speaker of the province or any nominee of the president, shall perform the functions until the governor returns.
